Message It is my
privilege and honour to share my views on the website of PGIMS, Rohtak that our prestigious Institute Pt. B.D. Sharma, PGIMS, Rohtak has glorious and illustrious history. It has
grown leaps and bounds since then to become the epicentre for patient care
from across Haryana as well as neighbouring States. In its nascent stage,
Medical College was started as guest Institute in 1960 at Medical College,
Patiala. Due to high demand for medical education and a deficient patient
care services in the southern part of Haryana which was the then part of
Punjab, it was shifted to Rohtak in 1963 during the
tenure of Sardar Partap
Singh Kairon who was then Chief Minister of Punjab.
From a small guest institute to a mammoth and prestigious Institute in the
country, it has been on a constant growth path and has never looked back
since then. In order
to support the institution in its journey of success, now it has upgraded as
Pt. B.D. Sharma, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Rohtak. The Institute is renowned throughout the country
and world-wide for its impeccable patient care services and quality medical
education. It is imparting Post Graduate Degree/Diploma course in all the
specialities/super specialties, Under Graduate and other Para-medical
education. At present, it ranks among the reputated
Medical Colleges in India which proves its quality and supremacy. The
institution is much sought after among students for undergoing undergraduate
and postgraduate courses throughout the country. The students who graduate
from the institute have carved a niche among them and have become top rated
health professionals. They always vouch their success to the institution.
